The Porsche Cayman receives its first ever GTS treatment and the results are simply outstanding. The GTS is a combination of blending luxury from the S and inspiration from the track day GT4. The result is a gratifying experience on the road that only the wizards at Stuttgart could conjure.
The GTS pack focuses heavily on performance, starting with the engine. Power comes from a 3.4L, which has been massaged to produce 340hp and 280lb-ft torque. Coupled to the 7-speed PDK transmission, Porsche says it can accelerate to a very conservatively listed 0-60 time of 4.3 seconds, all while announcing it to the world with a revised exhaust system. Straight-line performance isn’t the only benefit, as the vehicle comes standard with PASM (Porsche Adaptive Stability Management). Given its mid-engine configuration, the GTS barrels into corners with confidence that few cars deliver, regardless of price.
The GTS motif is carried into the interior, with a standard Chrono package and exclusive interior accents and stitching. The largest change to the otherwise suitable interior is the high contrast rev counter, providing emphasis to the only gauge that truly matters. In addition, carbon accents decorate the interior to reduce weight and give the interior a sportier feel.
